Hy-Vee shopping
Today I got
15 Glacier vitamin water $1 used $1 mfc
2 32 oz. Miracle Whip $2.49 used $1 off 2 mfc
2 lbs. strawberries $2.36
Total OOP $1.34
As you can tell by the math something ended up awry. The vitamin waters and miracle whip all rang up wrong. I asked them to fix the price, and the manager did. My told should have been around $4, but I will take less. LOL. Manager could not figure it out and told me not to worry about it.

Big buzz going on about the Redplum coupons.
Sad to say but very soon Redplum will not be putting an insert in the paper. They instead will be mailing them to their customers. Which means you can't get anymore than 1 insert. We are not 100% clear on why this happening but it is set in stone.

Walgreens shopping
Sorry getting this up a little late. Went Wednesday.
Here's what I got:
32 Reeses Whips, used the store coupon for B1G1 and manufacture coupon for $1 off 2.
2 Reeses Peanut butter cups
1 Revlon Creme Gloss, Free after rebate.
1 Keychain
I paid $7.24. I had a gift card with $5.50 (from last item FAR I had got) on it.
I'll also be getting $11 back because of the rebate item.
So I made $3.76
Pretty good day. Plus I won't have to buy chocolate for awhile. LOL

Kmart to double again.
KMart's next round of double coupons will be 2/22 - 2/28. These are the latest rules: "Amount of credit from doubling or tripling a coupon cannot exceed the current retail price of a single item. No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item. Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be doubled or tripled per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double or triple coupons. Buy One, Get One offers, Kmart Savings coupons, Kmart Pharmacy and Kmart Store coupons are excluded from this promotion. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Limit 25 coupons per customer per day. Internet coupons or copies of manufacturer instant coupons are not valid. Cheap Supper
I am always trying to figure out how to feed the family on a budget. Thought I'd share with you what we ate tonight.
Taco Salad, used
12 Ortega Taco shells (purchased earlier today) $.90
1 Package Ortega taco seasoning (purchased earlier today) $.09
1 Package ground turkey 85/15 $1.74
1 tomato, .77/lb was about 1/4 lb $.19
1 cup shredded cheese $0 free from WIC
1 package Green Giant steamers $0, free with $1 cpn when they were on sale.
1 big bag Spinach Salad $2.88, used half the bag.
1/2 onion chopped. $.25 apx.
Total cost for family of 5 tonight was $4.61
To make the taco salad:
Cut the onion.
Add the ground turkey and onion to the skillet and brown.
Add the taco seasoning as per instructions.
Break the taco shells and place in bowls.
Steam the corn and add.
Cut the tomato and add.
Add shredded cheese.
Tear Spinach leaves and add.
Add the meat/onion mixture.
Add you favorite taco toppings. We prefer Ranch dressing.
The kids LOVED it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been slow lately because my FIL died. I haven't really been shopping either, so you haven't missed out on any awesome deals. I'm trying to get back on track. Although it was a nice break, my food budget was brilliant for the month and I had plenty of food from stockpile I didn't have to worry about what we were going to eat during this time.
